Top 5 Fire Graphics This Gen
As with water , fire is also hard to replicate in games, with so many physical attributes and properties like fire inflaming other objects in the game world and fire spreading, fire is essential for many things like explosions or a game which utilizes the fire element, or they can just be lazy and add generic 2D pixalated sprite. Before you check the Top Five List be sure to check out the simulation of fire and how hard it is to program and get right at the jump below.
Fire Physics Simulation
5. Call Of Duty World At War ( Xbox 360 / PS3 / PC / Wii )
Call Of Duty WaW gave the player Molotov Cocktails, Flamethrowers , Tanks with flamethrowers to play and burn the enemies with.   While you torch the surroundings was fun, some objects catched fire , but some didnt, it had sweet effects like the liquid left behind by the molotov cocktails, Call Of Duty WaW fire was good but not the best.
4. Killzone 2 ( PS3 )
Killzone 2 was a game known for having spectacular graphics on consoles, with graphics this good, did they get the fire right? Well it may be scrutinised as a brown and grey lifeless shooter, but as far as i know the flamethrower was a blast to play with, watching the surroundings catch fire and the helghast animation to the fire was great.
3. Bioshock ( Xbox 360 / PS3 / PC )
Bioshock also appearing on our top five water graphics this gen, which you may check out at the bottom, But it also had great fire effects, once you get the incinerate plasmid you can see, burning the splicers and seeing the dark gloomy corridors of Rature light up, again adds to the atmosphere of the game.I couldn't find any decent videos of Bioshock showcaseing this but you may forward the video to 00.57s.
2. Far Cry 2 ( Xbox 360 / PS3 / PC )
1. Alone In The Dark ( Xbox 360 / PS3 / PS2 / PC / Wii )
Check Out Top 5 Water Graphics This Gen
Far Cry 2 had impressive dynamic fire which was also effected by the direction of the wind. The fire would catch fire onto anything like trees and other vegetation around, it can also be used to make traps for the enemies. Playing with fire in the African plains, creating Wildbush fires was a great experience to witness.
Word of warning, after seeing this video you may be impressed by this game, but at all cost avoid this game. It was hineously bad. Apart from that we can talk about one positive aspect of this game, and that was spectacular fire and physics in the game. I cant think of any other game which had fire effects like this game, seeing the objects degrade into charcoal and fall apart , while the fire spread like a infection ingulfing anything that was inflammable. It had the most realistic fire emulation to date. To bad about the game though.
Have i missed any games? forgive me and dont go into a fanboy rage comment below , as i may have forgetton some games.
